Gloucester

At the end of August 2019 I went on a steam excursion to Gloucester. A very hot day. It took that long to get there that we only had 2.5 hrs before the train returned to our starting point, Dorridge station, near Birmingham. Frankly, I was disappointed in Gloucester. The town centre is a modern collection of shops that can be seen in any town in the UK. It was supposedly a 'Retro Weekend' involving the 50s, 60s, 70s. All I saw, apart from a few people wearing costumes, was vintage cars all over the local streets. Not being interested in vintage cars I searched high and low for anything else - nothing.  A small corner of one street had something to do with WW1, even that was a paltry effort. The only music was one stage in a small square from which bands pumped out their versions of old classics.

I found the cathedral and took the following images there, nothing else warranted taking my camera out of its bag.

I didn't have time to visit its docks as it took my the full 2.5 hours to search in vain for anything then had to get back on the train.
