Who was Moses?

Akhenaten was the husband of the beautiful Queen Nefertiti. He was famous for having broken away from the traditional multi-god society that had been practised for about 2000 years and installed a single God - the "Aten" an all powerful force symbolised by the heat of the suns rays.  This lasted only about 12 years before Tutankhamun gained the throne and the old order was gradually restored.  Arthur Weigall uncovered remarkable similarities between Psalm 104 and an "ode" to Ra, composed by Akhenaten himself.  In his opinion, Psalm 104 was a copy of the ode itself. Indeed, the ode was written before Moses allegedly wrote Psalm 104.  He also argued that it was during the reign of Tutankhamun that the Exodus actually took place.  20 years later Sigmund Freud would express the same theory in two major papers.  Evidence to back this also comes from the hebrew word for Lord - Adonai or Adon, becomes Aten, the name of the sun, when written in Egyptian.  These were set out by Arthur Weigall in a book published a few months before Carter's declaration before the Consulate.  Carter did read it, but the men were such bitter rivals that Carter may have paid no heed to these theories.  But Carter was convinced that the exodus took place BEFORE the closure of the boy kings tomb, otherwise how could he claim that the documents revealed the true story of the Exodus.  Weigall's theory also fits the likely facts about the collapse of Akhenaten's religious revolution.  It is known that these priests and converts did not simply disappear when the boy king took the throne, they became social lepers and outcasts.  This is relevant in that a story not unlike The Exodus, the ancient Egyptian Manetho, writing about 250BC, recorded how one pharaoh had expelled "lepers" and "impure people" from Egypt. These so called lepers included some of the learned priests; one of whom, Osarsiph, ordered the people not to follow the Egyptian gods and to follow their own laws instead.

Later, according to Manetho, Osarsiph changed his name - to Moses.  Rather than being anti semetic, Manetho was referring to these "lepers" as being - in the eyes of the opponent - holding with heretical beliefs.  Other writers describe a king, in order to placate his people, expelling the "unclean" by being forced out of Egypt - led by an Egyptian! Evidence shows that, during the reign of Tutankhamun, northern Egypt was in the grip of a plague.  It decimated the population and lasted about 20 - 30 years. It is quite plausible to see stories about the killing of Egypt's firstborn on the night of  the Passover as having its roots in this plague. The people would naturally look for someone to blame, their former King being particularly handy.  To cleanse the land of his pollution they swept the land of undesirables, along with any other suspicious looking foreigners and settlers.  Having received a warning, these people would have took it upon themselves to leave forthwith.

If this was the story as told in Carter's papyrus, it would have been easy to throw the Middle East into turmoil. In the 20s, the local politics were as tangled as they are today - with the rights of a Jewish homeland at the middle of the turmoil.  Arab opinion was outraged, with riots in Jerusalem and Jaffa. The whole area was rife for bloody battle and a tinderbox. In these circumstances, Carter's threat to reveal the truth could hardly have been more inflammatory. The whole basis of the Zionist claim rested upon the story of the Exodus and opponents of the Zionist state would have jumped upon this and seized any hint that it was flawed.  After all, if Moses and his followers were renegade Egyptians, together with this selection of outcast foreigners - what special claim could they possibly have to a "homeland" - Israel.  Carter was in a position to cause the Zionists serious, possibly irrevocable, harm.  No wonder the British wholeheartedly threw themselves behind Carter's claims to be reinstated at the site.  What happened to the papyri? Did Carter destroy them or leave them hidden deep in some Cairo Museum?  Are they lying in a draw, hidden beneath some relatively insignificant papyri?  By the evidence of Lord Caernarfon's own letters, it is clearly apparent that he was privy to the existence of the papyri, was he also aware of their contents. Some have blamed his untimely death on the Curse - but the truth may be even stranger? Now, in 2007, we have a glut of so called "conspiracy theories" on everything from Adam & Eve to the source of the bullet that killed X, Y or Z. I am not one of these people who delight in so called conspiracy theories, I just think that what we are told is not always the truth. Tutankhamun was killed, yes, posssibly by Ay. But an equally practical theory places Tutankhamun's death as the result of a chariot accident. We will never really KNOW, will we? Items are found in tombs that could throw modern beliefs into turmoil so are hidden away, either by Archaeologists who do not want their own beliefs questioned or by religious people who do not want the "good life" to be terminated.

Archaeological finds, shown to the world in a Discovery TV programme of the same name,  have found that the Book of Exodus in the Old Testament was quite accurate in its telling, apart from the fact that its dates are some 400 years out. It actually took place around the year 2000BC. Moses, an extremely literate man had been educated by the Egyptian court. It is supposed that it was he who actually wrote the Book of Exodus.

The plagues were supposed to have been sent by Moses to punish the intransigence of the Egyptians. But where they? In 2000BC the volcanic island of Santorini exploded with such force that virtually the whole island was destroyed (see note below). Egypt was bombarded with "fire and brimstone" at exactly the same time - which in turn gave way to the "dust" and also the darkening of the skies. A plague of frogs was also reported in Exodus; just the same as in the USA following the eruption of Mount St Helens. Naturalists reported an explosion in the frog population. Flies have always been a problem in Egypt when the time of the Nile floods. Their proliferation was immense. Again, just as there was a massive increase in insect population after St Helens erupted.

When Moses was supposed to lead the people of Israel across the Red Sea it was in fact, according to the original Hebrew - across the Yam Suph - which means in Hebrew Sea of Reeds - NOT the Red Sea. The Yam Suph is in fact a region to the north of the Red Sea between the Red Sea and the Nile Delta and linked to the sea by channels. This seems to be accepted as fact by the archeological and scientific community, but obviously not by the church in Rome! Another one of their prize 'facts' destroyed. When the tidal wave crossed the Mediterranean Sea, it was  preceded by a massive withdrawal of water before the tidal wave crossed the coast and drowned the Yam Suph. In 1940, the same volcano erupted and eye witnesses on the Island of Crete described the coast emptying of water to such an extend that the fish could be seen jumping about on the sea bed, then a 10 foot high tidal wave hit the coast. Also, pumice stone from Santorini has been found on Crete, on top of a 300-foot hill, and also in the Yam Suph. Pumice is to heavy to be carried by air, but it WILL float on water.

Tablets as craved on the ancient rocks below Karkom

Moses arrived at the "Mountain of God", supposed by many to mean Mount Sinai.  Was it in fact "a Mount in Sinai"? It was actually Mount Kharkom (spelling may be wrong), which is on the present Egypt - Israeli border. The name means "Mountain of God" - and is flat topped, like a plateau. At the base of this mountain has been found an ancient Hebrew settlement but most remarkably, a twelve stone altar - just as described in the Exodus. Also, to put the icing on the cake so to speak, has been found rock carvings, dated the same, in Hebrew - showing, amongst other things, a depiction of the traditional idea of the 10 Commandment's type of drawing - what can best described as a double tablet with 10 compartments. It is generally believed amongst archaeologists that the Hebrew race at the time could and did write - a most literate race. Their rock carvings are in Hebrew. Moses, having been educated within the Egyptian equivalent of Oxford or Yale, was the most literate. I suppose the final proof will be when someone follows the route and finds the grave of Moses, who "never reached the promised land". Mt. Karkom is not a high mountain, but it is impressive with an outstanding natural "Sphinx" like feature at the head of the mountain. If Moses received the 10 commandments at Mt. Karkom, this feature would have been where it happened.

Mount Karkom - Hebrew for Mountain of God

Now here is another revelation - unlike the character Moses in the well known film, The Ten Commandments, Charlton Heston, was a Caucasian, with his flowing locks and bearded face.  Moses was almost certainly a black man, as he lived all his life in Africa and was therefore of that race. The reasons why this is accepted have not been found by me in my research, but accepted nevertheless. The Plagues of Egypt were caused by the volcanic eruption of Santorini, not by any divine hand and the parting of the Red Sea never took place - it was much further north in the Yam Suph, the Sea of Reeds. The original Hebrew text bears this out, it was only translation that caused the well known error, Suph being mistaken for Red not Reed. It was Moses himself who wrote the Commandments. Many people already know of the error, but many still automatically think "red sea".

Finally, the Egyptian Pharaoh Ankehaten; displaced the multi god culture of the time with a single god worship - the god RA - the sun. This is preceding the time of Moses. He wrote a poem to the sun god, which has been found in a recently discovered city in the desert, carved on some pillars. Following this man's death, Egypt reverted to the multi god society and erased the one god religion from their history. It is the same virtually word for word as some lines in the bible (sorry, cannot remember where in the Book of Psalms) but was written BEFORE the alleged biblical version. The words have been amended by whoever wrote the biblical version to reflect the scribe’s views and not those of an Egyptian Pharaoh. Could this have been Moses "one god" approach? Moses must have copied the original text from these pillars, substituting the word Ra for God and using it as his basis for his own "one god" theory. Or did Moses copy it word for word only for it to be later lost in translation by those who only saw what they wanted to see.

This is todays remains of what was once a large island, Santorini. It literally blew its top at the time of the 'exodus'
and was probably the site of Atlantis. The entire city was blown up in the explosion

Santorini was almost certainly the site of "Atlantis" as a whole culture was obliterated in this eruption, nothing was left of the city of splendour on the island, hence the "disappearance" of Atlantis. Some critics claim Atlantis never existed, but how did Plato visit it then and so describe its wonders? Atlantis has been confused over the ages by the retelling and retelling but it was "only" a city, it was not a continent. The best "bet" for its location has always been Thera, which was Santorini! I saw one stupid comment about this page in a site entitled something like the banal mutterings of an immature 25 year old, oh so true. I love critics who say something is untrue but cannot prove it, either way. I ask you to believe nothing, but only to read and think.

As nothing of the above can be totally proved, apart from the physical evidence of the eruption, I suppose it is theory, but bloody strong theory and actually does make sense. Everything fits, like a complete jigsaw and, of course, makes much more sense than some holy book that was written by people who only wrote what they wanted seen, hiding truths in some deep catacomb, vault or museum. Christianity is not the only religion that would be affected by revelations known, but not revealed. Religion is that which is a created by ignorance to explain the unexplainable (at that time!). Religion can be disproved at every turn, scientific fact is set in stone!
